My passion for colours has occupied me since I was a child. Painting, photography, diving and hiking have fed my imagination through the life. Several years ago I have discovered the art of painting on and dyeing fabric. Painting on silk and wool have revealed to me a new world full of colours and fantasy. Trying various techniques I was fascinated by Eco Printing technique. Finally I have discovered a way to imprint the beauty of the nature on the fabric.
Born in Russia , raised in Israel, I live and work in beautiful Melbourne.The charming, diverse and unique Australian flora has become the inspiration for my works. The plants, the leaves, the flowers are the magic pieces of art that I transfer to fabrics. Each garment I make is one of a kind and is created using natural materials only. It brings me a great joy and pleasure to create unique items that capture the nature itself. I love the feeling of sharing my works with others and hope everyone will enjoy them as much as I do!
Eco Printing is a cloth dying technique which allows bundling parts of plants in fabrics. Eco printing can be used on silk, wool and other natural materials. The plants' dye is usually set by steaming or heating the cloth bundle.
In my work I am using pure silk, wool and materials from the nature.The dyes are usually fixed by steaming, boiling or heated by sun. All the items are washable in cool water and soap, hand wash recommended.
